I know this is an old thread but i wanna share my opinions regarding this problem cause i have one wireless grandias 12v too.Īfter trying a lot of differents drivers for many webpages the gamepad is still not recognized by windows 8.1, i have an asus g750js and everything is fine with other gamepads (like a generic dragon blaze). I tried installing the vendor driver in compatibility mode, but it is still code 10. Also the Genius support said, they had no problem making it work on 8.1. I don't know why do you say, that it is incompatible with windows 8.1, as I cannot find it in the compatibility center, just the wired one, without info. As I said, I had a long conversation with Genius support. The automatic diagnostics tool found that I have a problem with my USB, offered to reinstall it, but obviously it didn't work.I cannot update the drivers, as it says the automatically installed driver is ok, and cannot install the vendor driver manually.I followed the "Code 10 fix" steps in your link, but it didn't help. Please help me, what should I check next. Needless to say, my Windows and hardware drivers are up-to-date. I had a long email conversation with the Genius support team and since my problem wasn't solved, they said I should write to Microsoft, as it has to be a problem with the OS. (Code 10) The requested operation was unsuccessful. In the Device Manager it shows up as an USB input device with an error, in the properties it says:.I can see the controller in the Devices and Printers, but it shows an error (Status: Driver error).I had a chance to try it on an other computer with 8.1, the same problem occurs. This question, it was quite similar, so I did the steps from the solution post, but cannot make the controller work. I managed to plug it into a USB hub, so it is now powered, as the LED lights up -> still nothing. The solution, did it, but it didn't help. I realised, that the LED on the receiver is not working, only in BIOS, after the OS boots, it stops, so I found out, it was a "USB-port-not-powered-8.1" problem, found. Then I downloaded the proper driver from the manufacturer website, installed it -> nothing.I plugged it in, the OS automatically installed the driver, but it was not working.I decided to give it a try on my desktop, running Windows 8.1. Genius Wireless Grandias 12V gamepad, working with my laptop, running Windows 7, without problem, using the automatic driver. Original Title: Wireless controller not working on Windows 8.1
